GUYS!!!!!! We are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!! Denise and I were invited to an advanced screening of The Longest Ride this coming Saturday March 28th and a round table interview with Nicholas Sparks and the cast on Sunday the 29th.

In preparation for the screening and interview, we are writing down some questions we have for them and wanted to ask YOU, if you had anything you wanted to ask so that we can come with reader questions too!

We will have a full report of our thoughts on the book and the movie AND of course our round table discussions on April 9th. So be on the lookout – hopefully we get some up close and personal pics too 😉

Leave your questions below on this post and we will ask as many as we can – there will be a full recording and transcribing of the round table so we will post and share as much as we can!!!!!

YAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for your help everyone! Look forward to reading your questions.

the longest ride 2

Synopsis

Ira Levinson is in trouble. At ninety-one years old, in poor health and alone in the world, he finds himself stranded on an isolated embankment after a car crash. Suffering multiple injuries, he struggles to retain consciousness until a blurry image materializes and comes into focus beside him: his beloved wife Ruth, who passed away nine years ago. Urging him to hang on, she forces him to remain alert by recounting the stories of their lifetime together – how they met, the precious paintings they collected together, the dark days of WWII and its effect on them and their families. Ira knows that Ruth can’t possibly be in the car with him, but he clings to her words and his memories, reliving the sorrows and everyday joys that defined their marriage.

A few miles away, at a local rodeo, a Wake Forest College senior’s life is about to change. Recovering from a recent break-up, Sophia Danko meets a young cowboy named Luke, who bears little resemblance to the privileged frat boys she has encountered at school. Through Luke, Sophia is introduced to a world in which the stakes of survival and success, ruin and reward — even life and death – loom large in everyday life. As she and Luke fall in love, Sophia finds herself imagining a future far removed from her plans — a future that Luke has the power to rewrite . . . if the secret he’s keeping doesn’t destroy it first.

Ira and Ruth. Sophia and Luke. Two couples who have little in common, and who are separated by years and experience. Yet their lives will converge with unexpected poignancy, reminding us all that even the most difficult decisions can yield extraordinary journeys: beyond despair, beyond death, to the farthest reaches of the human heart.

This Texas Girl would like to know: Scott Eastwood – Rumor is he actually rode a bull. Did he? If so, what was your experience like? >>>Something along those lines. Thank you – have a wonderful time, looking forward to the review and interview.

I loved your book Safe Haven. But the movie was so bad. Wasn’t there anything you could have done to save it?

  3. Sue Peace

I have no questions…I just picked up the book on the weekend and am getting to it soon! How exciting for you two!! Have fun!!

  4. DJ

For Mr. Sparks: so many writers today are writing trilogies instead of stand alone novels. What are your thoughts on this and would you ever consider writing a trilogy!

  5. Karen Drummond

I will not read another Sparks novel. Everyone falls in love and then die. Could one book have a HEA?

  6. Denise

    Dear Karen,
We had read an enjoyed The Longest Ride and the epilogue is a wonderful HEA! We hope you will try the book, it is a beautiful story.

  7. Ashley Jasper

This is a question I love to ask authors…

If someone were to write the story of your life, who would you want it to be AND what would the title be?

  8. Emme

    For Britt Robertson

How did shooting The Longest Ride compare to the other romance movie you did a few years back, The First Time? How did the experiences differ from each other?

  9. Lisa Betinelli

How did you guys build your chemistry as a couple? Did you hit it off right away or did it take a while to develop? Was there a rehersal period before filming when you could get to know each other?

  10. Mia V

    Nick,
This movie looks alot grittier and sexier than your past novels, was there a reason for this change?

  11. Laura

What were some fun moments from set that you could share? Any pranks pulled or funny memories?

  12. Amber Libbon

To Nicholas Sparks….what is one story that has “spoken to you” that you may be intimidated to write because it’s not within your ‘usual’ scope of writing and/or genre? Thank you!

  13. Teresa P

Did you guys take any aspects of the film to integrate into your own love lives?

  14. Bree

Actors usually do a chemistry read to see if they are compatible and can accurately portray a couple on screen. What occurs during these chemistry reads that shows the director and studios that you are well matched?
