Many fans seemed very nervous about what Bromberg had in store for Rylee and Colton (and readers) in Aced. Please do not be, this is a wonderful look into marriage. It is not a book just to write a book, this was a real issue they faced. This made me love Colton even more. He loved his wife and he wanted what was right for his marriage.
Aced takes place in a 5 to 6 month time span between the last chapter of Crashed and its dual epilogue and I truly enjoyed taking this journey with Rylee and Colton.
Well, I will NOT tell you what happens but I will say it is was well done! Colton stays 100% true to who he is, a man that loves Rylee to the core of his soul!
As with prior books by this author I adore the banter between the characters, this scene between Colton and Beckett has me smiling from ear to ear:
“Feelings are like waves, brother. You can’t stop them from coming but you sure as fuck can decide which ones to let pass you by and which ones to surf.”
This was a wonderful look at marriage and all it takes to keep your happily ever after!
The use of mental illness in this book pulled at my heart and I hope opens some people’s eyes. It was wonderful to see the family rally around to offer support. I hope that someday everyone in crisis has family that will drop everything to help them!
