Save me and I'll save you...

My name is Calla Price. I’m eighteen years old, and I’m one half of a whole.
My other half-- my twin brother, my Finn-- is crazy.

I love him. More than life, more than anything. And even though I’m terrified he’ll suck me down with him, no one can save him but me.

I’m doing all I can to stay afloat in a sea of insanity, but I’m drowning more and more each day. So I reach out for a lifeline.

Dare DuBray.

He’s my savior and my anti-Christ. His arms are where I feel safe, where I’m afraid, where I belong, where I’m lost. He will heal me, break me, love me and hate me.

He has the power to destroy me.

Maybe that’s ok. Because I can’t seem to save Finn and love Dare without everyone getting hurt.

Why? Because of a secret.

A secret I’m so busy trying to figure out, that I never see it coming.

You won’t either.

Whoa! I went into this book not knowing what it was about and purposely staying off Amazon and Goodreads so that I could go in blindly and I am SO GLAD that I did.

Nocte was a completely different read than prior books of Ms. Cole’s that I have read and I have to say that I may have loved this even more than her prior books.

Mysterious, fresh, dark and thrilling – this was something so exciting and different that I was captivated right from page one.

This review will be shorter than most because I truly believe you have to go in as I did – not knowing anything. I squeezed this little gem in between reads because I was in a slight book hangover and I am so glad that I was able to. I devoured it in one sitting…it was SO good.

Some things I will leave you with…

  • I wasn’t sure what was a figment of my imagination and what was real. I will say that I was suspicious of everyone and everything.
  • I would probably categorize this as a dark psychological thriller as it definitely played with my mind and at the end left me shocked and surprised and of course wanting more
  • Courtney was able to step out of the box and give the reader something so well thought out, well written and executed
  • The characters were relatable and I adored them all – yes there is a hot guy with a British accent (Dare) and a girl who had such a big heart, protective and nurturing (Calla) and her twin brother (Finn) who while suffered from mental illness, I was completely engrossed in his journal entries and the meaning behind his writing

So in short, BUY IT AND READ IT! I really don’t want to tell you more other than you will be left with your jaw hanging open as we all wait patiently for book 2 in this series Verum, which I CAN’T WAIT to delve into and learn what all of the secrets are!!! I am HOOKED!
