Shh Moms Talking… a Moms Day out… with Mr Grey

BRAVO!!! We feel the need to start with that. Fifty Shades Darker was everything we could have hoped for and SO MUCH MORE!

Denise: Whatever changes were made between the first movie and this one showed in spades; the characters truly came to life in this one. CHRISTIAN WAS FINALLY ON THE BIG SCREEN (yes shouty caps – sorry I couldn’t resist).

Christine: Yes Denise! I SO agree! Jamie Doran really stepped it up for this one and he looked AMAZING 😍😍 And Dakota Johnson is perfection. Everything was just so true to Ms. James’ vision and storytelling – I almost wish they could redo the first movie so that it matched the perfection that was Fifty Shades Darker.

Denise: Despite living very close to each other, Christine and I rarely see each other, so we planned an afternoon, bought movie tickets and then a blizzard hit New York so it took some childcare arranging (thank you Mom) as our children now had no school but wow was it worth it.

Denise: Ms. James’ voice was on the big screen!!!!!! I have to say I purposely didn’t re-read the books, so I am few years from reading them and I think that the movie was perfect. I wasn’t looking for a lot of particular scenes, I just wanted the movie to feel true to the spirit of the book and man did it ever!

Christine: I almost wish that I had the time to re-read because I wanted to immerse myself back into the books. My hope is to be able to do this for Freed.

For us, the movie delivered such a range of emotions, many memorable scenes and had us truly believing in the love story playing out between Christian and Anastasia. It was hot, but it was also funny and emotional and well…. we left the theatre as happy readers!

Christine: There is one scene in particular that my eyes teared up and in that moment, Jamie Doran truly was Christian Grey…the perfect person for the part (you will know what scene I am talking about when you see it.)

Thank you EL James and the team at Universal for translating these characters that touch so many readers hearts and for creating an amazing film that will touch their souls. We have MOVIE HANGOVER and truly can’t wait to watch it AGAIN and AGAIN!

We so can’t wait for Fifty Shades Freed! Coming in 2018 – til then laters, baby!

P.S. Hint… if you are reading this post and haven’t seen the movie.. stay until the end of the credits….xo

Thank you E.L. James – we LOVED #FiftyShadesDarker #CantWaitForMore

I couldn’t agree more. I think that the acting was so much better than in FSG and it was evident in the character development. I loved Dakota so much and Jamie finally won my heart as Christian. I thought some of the emotional scenes that were in the book could have been a little more intense on the screen but it was nothing to bring the film down by any means.

yes Jennifer! we wanted more between Christian’s mom and Mrs. Robinson – but were so happy that the connection between Dakota and Jamie was so much more evident in this movie!

Went and saw it yesterday and loved it. I didn’t re-read the books either and was surprised by how much emotional it was than the first one.

I agree completely. I feel like if you loved the books, you wouldnt be disappointed. Great job!
