Moonshot by Alessandra Torre
Suspense, intrigue, spellbinding romance, loyalty and most importantly love. All things I love in a GREAT book. This book is completely UNFORGETTABLE! Chase Stern is EVERYTHING!! <3

One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Taylor Jenkins Reid books are heartfelt, insightful, thought provoking and deeply emotional.

So Much More by Kim Holden
So much happens in this book that pulled at my heartstrings. I believe in fate and I also believe in “what goes around comes around”. The journey was difficult for everyone in this book but in the end, the lessons learned, the ability to get do-overs and try better, the appreciation that one gets when thinking of their life and all of the blessings they have in front of them made me love this book even more.

Empire by Rachel Van Dyken
Rachel did the unthinkable in Elude and made me fall in love HARD with Sergio. Empire broke my heart and built it back up again. No one deserves a happy more than Sergio and Rachel has outdone herself again by giving us a riveting book full of meaning, destiny, and finding true happiness. Empire is raw and real and completely breathtaking. A beautiful story about a broken man and his second chance at a love he never thought he was worthy of.

Collared by Nicole Williams
THIS is my favorite Nicole Williams book to date. This book was so heartbreakingly beautiful, emotional, and gut wrenching – truly my heart was bursting from all the feels and emotions!!! Collared is the perfect mix of suspense, love, second chances, and healing. This is a book that I will NEVER EVER forget.

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover
Inspiring, complex, and completely unforgettable – It Ends with Us is my absolute FAVORITE book of Colleen Hoover yet and trust me, you will have complete book hangover. And naked truth…I love this book HARD! Read it, just buy it – this book is exceptional….magnificent…complete and utterly perfect.

From Sand and Ash by Amy Harmon
A poignant and touching story of courage, sacrifice, faith, hope and love amidst the turmoil and devastation of WWII. Ms. Harmon eloquently tells this beautiful story of true heroism and faith and it is in a word – STUNNING.

Undecided by Julianna Keyes
…reading this was SO MUCH FUN! I found myself laughing out loud at the character’s dialogue and bantering back and forth and I truly enjoyed being reminded of what college life is like with this refreshing storyline. This book is a true gem and is a must read.

Black Swan Affair by KL Kreig
I am on a total book high right now and my heart is SO very happy…K.L. Kreig is another new author to me that I had the privilege of reading and she mesmerized me with her magical way with words and storytelling. In a book world where so many books are similar, Kreig gives readers raw emotion, nail-biting angst and the ability to live these characters lives, to get to know them and love them so that you are rooting for everyone to have a happy ending.

What starts of as “friends” will definitely become more and readers will be delighted in a new author to add to their TBR list that writes the male POV really well and takes readers back to college romance that is different and reminiscent of when the new adult category first came out years ago.

Sweet Cheeks by K. Bromberg
Any books where there is childhood love, then separation then reconnecting again takes my breath away. There is just something so special about seeing your first true love and realizing how much you still feel for that person or how you compared every other relationship to that person – I just LOVED everything about Saylor and Hayes’s journey.

Secret Sins by CD Reiss
No one writes sexy heat like C.D Reiss and this book – just WOW! *fans self* My heart and mind nearly combusted from the emotion, the shock and awe. Fans of the Drazen family will learn so much about Margie and what makes her tick, what makes her who she is today.

Results May Vary by Bethany Chase
What I loved about this story besides the premise, the emotional feelings that the author evoked in me and this woman’s journey to finding herself again.

Royally Screwed by Emma Chase
These characters (all of them including the secondary characters!) embedded themselves in my heart completely. Readers who love romance will fall in love with this enchanting, sexy, fun and heartwarming fairytale that I promise will steal their hearts too <3

Turbulence by Whitney Garcia
I haven’t read many books about a pilot and the nuances that go on behind the scenes in the airline industry but this book..WOW…this book was highly addictive and made me see this industry in a whole new light. I am not ashamed to admit that I want my own pilot and to join the mile high club myself *fans self* 😉

Bad Mommy by Tarryn Fisher
This book is SO f’d up!!! Find out what happens when your best friend wants your life. Get ready for a journey that is so messed up that it is hard to believe – complete shock and awe! Totally insane! And of course, I loved every minute. Tarryn is back with another book that will leave you breathless.

Can I See You Again by Allison Morgan
There is just something about this book that made me smile throughout my read. I laughed, I felt the sadness, and I felt the hope. My goal to read new authors this year has made me so happy because Allison Morgan has become another must read author to add to my list. This book was pure delicious fun, no drama for the sake of drama, just a well written, engaging love story that I couldn’t stop reading.

The Bourbon Thief by Tiffany Reisz
Completely captivating, an addicting page-turner that spans 100+ years. A story of familial greed, lies and revenge that will leave readers gripping their kindles, wanting more.

 ★¸¸.•*¨*•★ Denise’s Top Faves 2016 ★¸¸.•*¨*•★

Night Shifts Black by Alyson Santos
As the character says in the book, words can affect people. I hope this book opens eyes to mental illness and maybe just maybe raises additional awareness for the deadly disease that is mental illness.

The Ground Rules  by Roya Carmen
This is not your conventional love story. Hats off to Ms. Carmen for writing a unique story, one that will make the reader think, one that makes you question – is the grass greener on the other side? What is a soulmate? And in the end, would you chose the same path if given other options?

His Royal Secret by  Lilah Pace
His Royal Secret pulled me in from the moment I opened it and it had me wanting to sit and read all day! This is my first book by Lilah Pace and I was impressed!

Retrieval  by Aly Martinez
This was a masterful woven plot. ONE STORY, TWO COUPLES and a reader who was captivated and devoured every word of this powerful duet!

Painted on My Heart by Kindle Alexander
This is a layered masterfully woven story with depth and real life problems that adults face; a complete story that will warm your heart and touch your soul. This is a long engaging read that had me falling in love more and more with each page and despite the length I found myself wanting to spend more time with this wonderful cast!

Roman by Sawyer Bennett
This book was a complete story. Ms. Bennett pushed these characters; forced them to look within; due to circumstances and situations many never imagine they really have to decide what does happy mean and how badly do they want to be happy!

Speechless by Nicole Edwards
I loved Hudson from almost the moment we meet him in book 1 and well now I adore him. I think he may be my favorite in this series wait check that, he may be one of my favorite Nicole Edwards characters EVER.  Such an amazing blend of hot, strong, caring and truly compassionate.

Wicked Bond  by Sawyer Bennett
This series proves in spades Ms. Bennett’s prowess as an author as the range of emotions and writing in this series is amazing.

Stuck-Up Suit by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward
This is my first book by this writing dual and I was so impressed!!  From the moment I read the blurb and saw the cover, I said I need to read this book, and I am so glad I did. At first I was thinking, hot guy in a suit meets girl from the other side of the tracks, attraction, awesome banter, this book is going to be fun… well it was so much more than that.

Keepsake  by Sarina Bowen
Keepsake builds a family, a community, a world that will have you forcing yourself to read slow so you can savor each moment. Ms. Bowen does an outstanding job pulling the reader into this Vermont setting and allowing them to witness life and love on the Shipley farm.

Ravenous by M.S. Force
If you are fans of Ms. Force’s Green Mountain series this book is hotter, with some more detailed sex scenes but they work in the context of the story and the sex by no means takes away from her storytelling; in many ways it adds to it. Her wonderful dialogue during the power exchange between sub and Dom spoke to the characters and this author’s talent (love these scenes in this book and the others in the series).

Sidebarred  by Emma Chase
In this book, Ms. Chase has proven yet again that she is the Queen of male POV. This book is filled with wonderful banter, masterfully crafted family dynamics and love; love on so many levels.  Sidebarred is one those books that as I got more distance from it, as I tried to put my love into words, the rating went up!

US by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy
With poetic grace, the authors not only allowed the reader to fall more in love with the characters from the first book but also crafted new ones that will steal your heart and in the case of Blake Riley have you laughing out loud!

Trust by Jana Aston
I sooooooooooo needed this book. From the moment I opened it, I was pulled in with Ms. Aston’s wit, humor and epic banter between characters I have grown to love. I was in such a book funk, like struggling to even want to pick up my kindle. Trust had me not wanting to put my kindle down and man, do I love that feeling!

It’s Only Love by Marie Force
I adored how Ms. Force keeps each character true to themselves and crafts each relationship in a unique fashion, truly poetic genius to keep track of so many people and family dynamics.

Feels like Summertime by Tammy Falkner
This book has so much of what I love in a great book: it pulled me in from the first page (great male POV), it kept me engaged throughout, it had me laughing, it was a wonderfully well done second chance romance and it was a new author I throughly enjoyed!

Three, Two, One (321) by J.A. Huss
It is no secret that I love a great menage, though not a typical menage read and not the ending many may wish for, it does end with three and it was perfect for me!

Drawn Deeper by Brenda Rothert
Ms. Rothert made the wait worth it and then some.  I adored Kyle, he was a wonderful blend of confident and gentlemanly, he is clear he wants Meredith, he treats her with respect and he is sexually so much fun!

(Did not disappoint. LK still swoonworthy after all these years.)

(This needs no explaination…because Outlander and JAMMF.)
    3. One Fell Sweep – Book 3 Innkeeper series – Ilona Andrews
(Free on-line read on authors website. Great experience. Of course I will re-read the published version in my leisure 😉
    4. Born Sinner – Book 1 Se7en Sinners series – S. L. Jennings
(Dark, tormented, broody, with a side of sultry stare-down. This is one Holy hotness of a fallen angel. I received this as an ARC and was blown away.)

    (Oh, Adam.)

I have sooooo many favorites, but probably the one that stands out the most in my mind was Deception, Book 3 in The Infidelity Series by Aleatha Romig. This book made me scream out loud, more than once, but at the end I just screamed and threw my Kindle down! Now that’s my kind of book!!! I just LOVE this whole series, but Book 3 is probably my favorite of the first 4 books released. Fidelity, Book 5, and the final book in the series releases 1/17/17. To say I’m anxiously awaiting it is an understatement! LOL

I have to mention another one that is at the very top of the list….The Silent Waters by Brittainy C. Cherry. It was an incredible story, so unique and different.

  40. Natalie Conrad

However, I feel like I’m not giving credit to the other amazing books I read this year like the entire Driven series and the Billionaire Bad Boys series. I mean Max Monroe brought it with Kline, Thatch and Wes! I swear all of the authors just brought their A game this year (hello Hayes from Sweet Cheeks or Jack from After We Fall or all of Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward’s boys). I could go on and on and on.

I truly love series and there were several books in series this year that I loved, Dirty Heart in Cole McGinnis series, Hanging the Stars in Half Moon Bay series and Absinthe of Malice in the Sinners series by Rhys Ford – man she was busy. And Smoke & Mirrors in THIRDS series by Charlie Cochet.
