“Sometimes love happens when you least expect it.” That was what my husband’s mistress told me the day I found out about their affair.
I didn’t believe it until five minutes later when mouth-watering celebrity chef Tanner Reese walked up, tossed his arm around my shoulders, and told my cheating husband to take a hike.
Tanner and I couldn’t have been more different. He spent his weekends at clubs, rubbing elbows with fellow A-listers. I spent mine in yoga pants with cheese boards and a glass of wine—or six.
Our relationship shouldn’t have worked, but it did. That is until Tanner proved to me that even though love happens when you least expect it...
So does heartbreak.
Across the Horizon by Aly Martinez was witty and heartfelt love story about two people so not in a place in their lives to find love.
Porter and Rita meet each other in a way that was touching and so not about long term love. In the end I sort of loves that theme…. the life isn’t always convenient but you need to grab happy when it presents itself
My heart broke of Rita, though this book was lighter than a few I have read by this author it was not without heartbreak.
Tanner is so much more than the abs on the cover though in this case the theme of abs is about more than just the cover and I loved that.
Tanner’s family especially his mom placed a great part in in the story and in the end the how Tanner’s troubles wrap back into the couple’s happy was really well done.
You may remember Tanner Reese as Porter’s famous brother in The Darkest Sunrise.
Tanner is back and more swoony than ever and this book can be absolutely be read STANDALONE.
Ps if you want to know why the subject of the email line has a shrimp 🦐 make sure to read the book
