The last sizzling novel in Kristen Proby's Romancing Manhattan series finds a widower falling deeply in love again with a woman who has scars of her own.

When Carter Shaw’s wife died five years ago, he was left to pick up the pieces not only of his own broken heart but also that of his devastated eight-year-old daughter, Gabby—leaving him with no time for anything else, let alone dating. But recently, Carter has noticed women again and soon even begins dating. No one has stuck around for long, mostly thanks to one very angry Gabby.

Nora Hayes has worked as Carter’s assistant for years. Recently divorced herself, Nora spends many hours at the office and helping Carter with his daughter whom she adores. Despite loving her job and being wrapped up in the Shaw family, Nora’s never given her handsome, kind workaholic boss a second thought, especially in the romance department.

But then the snowstorm of the century hits, and Nora finds herself stranded at work with Carter overnight. And suddenly, she sees Carter in a whole new, sexy light. The sadness that’s lived in his eyes for so long has now been replaced with pure, unadulterated lust—and Nora isn’t quite sure what to do about it. For after the pain of her divorce, she never thought she would give love a second chance.

Carter and Nora have always believed in never combining business with pleasure. But how can they possibly deny the all-consuming chemistry between them...?

After All by Kristen Proby was beautifully written office center romance that truly highlights how you have to ready and open for it when love comes; even it is a snowstorm that finally has you seeing what is right in front of you.

This final book in the Romance Manhattan series is about Carter, the law partner and brother-in-law to the Finn in book 1 in the series All the Way and Quinn in All it Takes.  Carter is young widow raising a now teenage daughter, Gabby.

Nora Hayes has been Carter’s assistant for years but one snowy night… well things start to change.

I adored having a front row seat to these two learning about each other outside of the office. Nora’s understanding of Carter’s loss and his desire to show her his love for her spoke to how love comes in many forms and is about loving the person as you find them.

These are two people who come to each other with life experiences ones that were beautifully woven into this story that will pull you in from the opening words.

In the end there was no doubt that despite the challenges and accommodations that happen when adults who lives find love that these two were meant to grow old together!

Carter’s loss was tied in with this poetic genius at the end that is make my heart break for him yet again as his young wife lost to cancer made sure he well… you know what… I am not telling… read the book. I though say I ponder if more people terminally ill consider this path if grieve might somehow take on another form for their lived ones left behind. Yes, this book did make me thing, and swoon…. as it in the end pure Proby romance.

The epilogue to this one was in a voice that make it pure perfection and it make the end of this great series even more poignant.

Proby’s Romance Manhattan series makes a fabulous summer reading binge!
