2021 was another tough reading year for me. My Goodreads goal was to read 50 books and surprisingly I read 71 which totally shocked me because I really struggled this year. I am hoping to find my reading mojo back in 2022 though with preparing my oldest to go to college and I am in tears already, I am not sure which way it will go. I have my fingers crossed though!
Here are my favorites from 2021. While I still continue to enjoy angst, bully books, and deep soulful reads, I found myself reading more romcom this year. Maybe it was to have more of the feel-good lightheartedness that I needed in my life to pull me from the funk.
These books stayed with me for so many reasons…
Sealed by Laura Pavlov – who doesn’t love a single dad romance?! Coco and her Big Sexy and all the chemistry and fun banter just kept me smiling and laughing. The Willow Springs series is a must-read!
One is a Promise by Pam Godwin – whoa! This was a recommend from my author friend Laura Lee and my book friend Stephanie Sab and I don’t think I devoured a three-book series so fast before. I love a good love triangle and this one had me second-guessing and on a roller coaster of emotions from page 1. Godwin is a GENIUS and I am a HUGE fan!
Redemption by Laura Lee – deeply emotional, beautiful, childhood best friends to lovers, second chance romance – all the wonderful things I love in a book! This is one that will break you and put you back together in a way that you will never forget!
Wanted Wed or Alive by Willow Aster and Laura Pavlov – I could not love a family more than the GD Taylors. This series is so much fun, heartfelt and sexy. I love each and every one of them so much. This is another must-read family series that will warm your heart. You will want to be a part of this family I promise!
That Guy by Kim Jones – sexy, steamy, laugh-out-loud funny. A heroine with no filter who gets herself in trouble over and over and a swoon-worthy hero that you will just fall for. I have never read a Kim Jones book before but I loved every minute!
Not My Romeo by Ilsa Madden-Mills – a professional football player and the quirky librarian he can’t get out of his head – yes please! I love this author’s words SO MUCH!
Ashton Morgan: Apartment 17B – oh I loved this book so much! Aly has a way with words. All her trademark angst and emotions and heartbreak. It’s powerful and filled with struggles and sacrifice and beauty at every turn of the page. This is a must-read!
Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2022!!
