I joined the team at Jameson Force Security three months ago and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made. Leaving behind the Marine Corps together, my dog Omega and I made the cross-country trek to Pittsburgh for an exciting new career. Now I get to spend my days doing dangerous missions with my team and Omega gets to spend his days relaxing, unless there are explosives to be sniffed, and then he’s all paws on deck.
When Omega—who I affectionately refer to as Bubba—snacks on something he most definitely shouldn’t have, an emergency trip to the vet introduces me to Abigail Blackburn. She’s a little quirky, a lot smart, and completely captivating. She also has a penchant for trouble and when Abby makes it her own personal mission to expose the puppy mill industry, she finds herself mixed up with unsavory characters who aren’t happy with her efforts to cut into their profits
This seedy underbelly is a dangerous place, particularly for a well-intentioned, yet somewhat naïve, small-town vet. What began as peaceful protests outside of local pet stores has escalated into something that threatens Abby’s safety, and I refuse to sit by and watch her get hurt. Somehow this raven-haired beauty has gotten under my skin, and I don’t hesitate to call in my teammates at Jameson to help keep her safe.
Now I find myself trying to balance my need to protect Abby while helping her successfully complete her mission, but also redirecting her focus long enough to show her that I’ve completely fallen for her. One thing is certain—this is going to be my toughest assignment yet.
Code Name: Omega by Sawyer Bennett was such a great read, I adored Kellen and Abby’s story!
As this book opens we meet the newest member of the Jameson team, Kellen McCord… we quickly meet the one who holds Kellen’s heart…. Omega (affectionately referred to as Bubba by Kellen)
Yes, Bubba is a dog, actually, the dog Kellen served with in the military, a dog now living the pet life!
When Kellen returns to Bubba after a mission, his doggie dad instincts tell him something feels off.. and that puts him in the orbit of Dr. Abby Blackburn.
Witnessing Kellen and Abby getting to know each other, witnessing these two adults beldn their lives, experiencing their confidence when the past shows up, and in the end, seeing the support they have for each other made it so clear these two were met for each other.
oh and Shh… though I am NOT going to ruin this beautifully well-done story… I will say there are PUPPIES…. puppies that make this story so special and puppies that will pull at your heartstrings for so many reasons!
If you know you read sweet spot… it’s not usually “romantic suspense” well this book transcends its genre… the storyline is so woven into WHO Abby is and as the plot develops it connects these two so deeply that the “suspense” felt critical to the love story.!
Since Kellen is NEW to the Jameson Security team this book is easily read standalone… but if you have read the amazing Jameson Force Security series you will LOVE seeing the couples you love and the developments in their lives!
Though I am sad to see this series end… I was THRILLED to see my wish as I read this one come true when I learned that Abby’s family is going to central in a new series called The Blackburn Farms launching in 2024!
