Denise here…
It brought a big smile to my face to look back at the fabulous books I read in 2019!
Here are my favorites for the year!
My picks are NOT numbered… they are in alphabetical order by title.
These books are so varied they can’t be compared to each other
- A Lie for a Lie by Helena Hunting had me hooked from the opening pages. It was a masterfully woven story about connection, second chances, and secrets that comes together in a story that kept me glued to my kindle rooting for RJ and Lainey’s forever happy!
- Arctic Sun by Annabeth Albert grabbed my heart and would not let go!
I adored Griffin and River’s journey to a happy neither ever imagine. This story was so well done, attraction didn’t solve anything and even love was not enough as each man needed to decide what makes them truly happy. It made my heart happy that this story was not rushed.. the character development, the look at both sobriety and eating disorders were so well done… that I think Arctic Sun will remain in my heart for sometime to come.
- Bryce by Jeannine Colette and Lauren Runow was just WOW…… The connection between Bryce and Tessa was tangible from the moment they meet.
- Code Name: Genesis by Sawyer Bennett flows beautifully and reads like movie playing out in front of the reader’s eyes
- Determination Trilogy by Lesli Richardson series The Determination Series has some hot scenes but they are well places in the book leveraging emotions with sex and really enhanced the read.
- Enchanting Sebastian by Kristen Proby 👑 💖 Proby and a Royal family need I say more… well OK I probably should … Enchanting Sebastian was everything you want in a romance novel layered with Proby’s flare for amazing dialogue, great banter and wonderful character dynamics.
- Famous by Marie Force this love story is far from all roses but man is the happy worth the journey.
- Irresistible by Melanie Harlow captivated my heart and soul! The blurb had me at single dad and Irresistible had me at the opening lines… because WOW, I think so many parents have felt that exact moment.
- Legend by Sawyer Bennett grabbed my heart from the opening pages and did not let go! The author has been open in her promo of this book that in the opening chapters of the book NHL Star Legend Bay finds himself staring at a baby girl dropped on his porch, she delivered a story that had me believing Legend and Pepper fell in love….and not just loved of the same baby girl, they truly loved each other!
- Letters to Molly by Devney Perry – This book… well this book will make you feel…..and THINK.. really think about LOVE and happily ever after! Full Disclosure…I let Letters to Molly sit on my kindle as I was a bit nervous to open it. I am not quite sure what those nerves were but man and I glad I dove in. This is a uniquely original story, one I am so happy I knew the author promised would provide a happy at the end because it was laced with raw emotions that hit me right in the heart.
- Misadventures of a Curvy Girl by Sierra Simone touched me deeply and was the most personal review I have written today! I know reading Misadventures of a Curvy Girl helped me feel a bit more of the love in my own life and for just a bit quieted some of the “if I just lost a few more pounds” or “if my stomach was just a bit flatter.”
- Out of the Shade by S.A. McAuley blew me away! I have to get my head around the outstanding story I just read. This line is the blurb just about sums up the book… The hardest battle is the fight to be yourself.…
- Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston is a rich and deep story inside a masterfully constructed world. Red, White & Royal Blue was far from a boy meets boy and love fixes all; this plot was complex and laced with more than just coming to terms with sexuality, it was also about how sexuality is part of history, world history and global politics.
- The Regret Duet by Aly Martinez was WOW… just WOW…. In Written with Regret and Written with You Aly Martinez proves yet again she is a masterful storyteller. As the past and present unfold in front of the readers eyes and to some extent the characters eyes as well (since we all only know out own truth) watch out because you will not, I repeat NOT want to put this story down.
- This is Wild by Natasha Madison is a story that will grab your heart and soul and stick with you long after you put it down. This 5 star top pick is a powerful and raw look at addiction, the power of love and the beauty that comes from find that right person to walk by your side.
- Top Secret by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy throughout the book I found myself trying to force myself to read slowing to savor every word! The story of Luke and Keaton was so much of what I read for… great banter, the reader witnessing the relationship developing… love….. love coming from friendship and chemistry that bleeds off the pages!
- Waiting for Willa by Kristen Proby … I named this a Top Pick in February because I loved, love this one. Waiting on Willa a true is a MUST CLICK… Ms. Proby delivers pure romance and passion and deep emotions and well just WOW all the way around.
Wishing you and your a happy Holiday Season and a 2020 filled with love, health and amazing reads!
