From Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Jewel E. Ann comes the exciting second novel in the Wildfire series, an emotional romance that burns up the page as it tugs at the heart.
When Maren Bernabe stops by the office to update some paperwork, she’s not looking for love. Then sparks fly during an awkward meet-cute with a stranger in the bathroom, and suddenly anything seems possible.
A seasoned air tanker pilot, Maren battles fires across the rugged Montana wilderness. With firefighters for roommates, she’s no stranger to tough guys—or tough situations. Ozzy Laster is the helpful stranger she meets, one of Cielo Aviation’s newest aircraft mechanics who’s faced his fair share of hardship too. Two years ago, his wife and father died in a car crash. Now Ozzy and daughter Lola shun cars in favor of bikes.
Maren and Ozzy fall hard, but guilt forces them to hide their relationship from Ozzy’s disapproving in-laws. And Lola. They all want to protect her from more heartbreak. But when tragedy strikes again, Lola’s reaction will surprise them all. And Ozzy could get a second chance at love after all…

I could not stop reading this book… I loved everything about it! You guys… I cried so much!

Single parent romances are some of my favorite reads and Maren and Ozzy’s story hit me with all the feels. The very first line in the book “If you want to have sex again before you die, I’m okay with it.” said by Ozzy’s 10-year-old daughter Lola hooked me right in and I was ADDICTED.

Maren is a strong, independent woman who has a kick-ass job as a tanker pilot fighting wildfires. Ozzy is the mechanic who works on planes and their meet-cute had me DYING. Ozzy is the epitome of an amazing dad… he lost his wife two years prior in a horrific car accident, his daughter miraculously survived that accident with her own scars, and he lives and breathes for his little girl. His promise to her to never get in a car again and now having to ride their bikes everywhere just about killed me. *cries*

Watching Ozzy and Maren navigate this secret romance, all the while Ozzy having to deal with his in-laws who live with him and help him take care of Lola, and the mother-in-law specifically not wanting to move past the heartache of losing his wife (their daughter) and his inner conflict and guilt about actually moving on and living life, felt so realistic that my heart broke for all of them.

I don’t want to tell you what happens, but I really couldn’t stop the tears from flowing. There is NOTHING that Jewel E. Ann writes that I don’t love. I love this whole friend group, I love Ozzy’s swoony words and I fell in love with him just as Maren did too, and I LOVED all the ways that Maren shows how much she loves his daughter. *be still my heart*

From Nowhere is an emotional love story that will pull at your heart strings. I can’t wait to read Will’s story and to watch this single bachelor fall. A GREAT ADDITION to the Wildfire series. ❤️❤️

About Jewel E. Ann

Jewel is a free-spirited romance junkie with a quirky sense of humor.

With 10 years of flossing lectures under her belt, she took early retirement from her dental hygiene career to stay home with her three awesome boys and manage the family business.

After her best friend of nearly 30 years suggested a few books from the Contemporary Romance genre, Jewel was hooked. Devouring two and three books a week but still craving more, she decided to practice sustainable reading, AKA writing.

When she’s not donning her cape and saving the planet one tree at a time, she enjoys yoga with friends, good food with family, rock climbing with her kids, watching How I Met Your Mother reruns, and of course…heart-wrenching, tear-jerking, panty-scorching novels.
