TOMMASO
The furniture district is my personal hell. I don’t know my ass from an ottoman. But when a hot designer comes to my rescue, I realize my problems are bigger than the house I’m trying to furnish.
A scorching kiss over fabric samples makes me question all my choices. But is it too late to change my entire life to get more of them?CARTER
I need this gig, but my cocky new client leaves out a couple crucial details:
He doesn’t mention that he's a famous hockey player. And he doesn’t own up to the way he’s always trying to undress me with his dark, broody eyes.
The man throws out more mixed signals than a broken traffic light. I've never been more sexually frustrated in my entire life. I need to back away before I do something stupid, like lose my heart.
Oops. Too late.
I’m Your Guy by Sarina Bowen captivated my heart as Tommaso and Carter work to find a way to accept the pull they feel.
There is so much I adore about this story….there is no formula here… the story is much more than an NHL accepting his sexuality… and way beyond boy meets boy and falls in love.
The way Tommaso and Carter met was unique and beyond entertaining a true testament Bowen’s talent.
Tommaso is an NHL player trying to furnish his new home.. and I stress trying…. this search to make his house feel like a home before his mom’s visit puts him in the orbit of Carter.
As I mention Tommaso’s Mom I must say the use of his family and upbringing was masterful…. and without formula or spoilers I will say BRAVO for the use of Tommaso’s ex!
The way Tommaso and Carter support each other might have been one of my favorite things about his book and it makes the happy they find together even more poignant.
And though I rarely reference news commentary in my reviews….. but I feel like I have to add as this beautiful and poignant story comes together, it is painful to write this review on a day when the NHL now makes what is written impossible.
This story is 100% standalone but I do want to add I LOVED and highly recommend The New Guy (Hudson and Gavin’s story)
ps I hope we get to know more about Coach 😉
