The blurb had me at single dad and the book had me at the opening lines… because WOW, I think so many parents have felt that exact moment.
Mack and Frannie’s story had me so thankful I was the passenger on a 8 hour car trip because I was able to live in this happy from the opening lines to the last beautiful word!
I am not always a big fan of an age gap but in this case that fades away and all I felt, really felt was the connection between Mack and Frannie.
The use of Frannie’s family and Frannie finding her place in the world, her own profession outside of the family business allowed her and Mack to bond and also had her finding her own voice.
Frannie’s family has a reason to be overprotective (this is not about Mack and I loved that) but how Frannie works through that allows her maturity to shine through
Ms Harlow did an outstanding job with Mack’s girls, each has their own personality and each is dealing in their own way with their mom leaving…each also bonds with Frannie and even better each has a special bond with Dad… some of the banter between Mack and his daughter stole the show!
I was struck by what an amazing job the author did of having the girls, their schedules play into the story…. when you have children schedules are pushed, dates are missed, you get the idea. I was so happy this was apart of the book because it really highlighted that Frannie was all in!
Frannie’s time with the girls had me knowing this family belongs together! And huge thank you these young ladies as in the end the girls prove this relationship was meant to be. Nope, not telling READ THE BOOK!
I can foresee being Irresistible a Top Pick of 2019 for me! I cherish my signed copy.
