My name is Amber Reynolds. There are three things you should know about me:
1. I’m in a coma.
2. My husband doesn’t love me anymore.
3. Sometimes I lie.

Amber wakes up in a hospital. She can’t move. She can’t speak. She can’t open her eyes. She can hear everyone around her, but they have no idea. Amber doesn’t remember what happened, but she has a suspicion her husband had something to do with it. Alternating between her paralyzed present, the week before her accident, and a series of childhood diaries from twenty years ago, this brilliant psychological thriller asks: Is something really a lie if you believe it's the truth?

WOW! What a debut from Alice Feeney! This year, I am trying new things—listening to audio books, more books outside of the romance genre—and Sometimes I Lie totally hit the spot.

The synopsis grabbed me:
My name is Amber Reynolds. There are three things you should know about me:

2. My husband doesn’t love me anymore.
3. Sometimes I lie.

Beyond the synopsis, you should go in blindly without reading any reviews so that it doesn’t spoil anything for you. I devoured this book in basically one sitting. The story unfolded from Amber’s POV—from then (leading up to what happened to her), now (in the hospital when she is in a coma), and from her childhood diaries.

There were so many things I didn’t see coming—I love the shock and awe, I love the twists that kept me on the edge of my seat, and I love that I thought I knew what would happen and then I was completely WRONG! lol… I absolutely LOVE that feeling of closing a book and being completely taken by surprise and awestruck by an author’s talent and I closed this book just thinking, “wow, Wow, WOW!”

So the author left it at the end in a little twist that I didn’t see coming… could there be another book to follow? Can more truths be revealed? I don’t know but I damn sure hope there is more because I was left with my mouth hanging open OMG!
