What I meant to do in Vegas: Let my hair down for once and celebrate winning a medal at my first women’s hockey all-stars competition.
What I actually did: Got senior prom drunk and woke up married to Brooklyn’s star winger, the great Neil Drake.
He’s the heir to a billion dollars, and I barely survived my childhood. Our friendship is based strictly only on hockey, takeout food and smack talk.
And now holy matrimony. Although we both know it can’t last, especially once his evil family gets wind of our Vegas shenanigans…
Contains: Meddling teammates, meddling parents, ugly jewelry and a pretend-kiss that nearly sets the world on fire.
Shenanigans by Sarina Bowen transcends its genre and blurb as the author tells a masterful story that is addictive from opening lines!
This is the kind of book you can’t put down and “sneak” read on your phone and then have to sync your kindle the next time you sit to read!
In this one you get two hockey playing leads… as Charlotte “Charli” Higgins is a female hockey player and Neil Drake III (yes there is a story there) is an NHLer in the same city…. their paths have crossed prior (yes their 1st meeting is re-lived here) but this time meeting as both are in Vegas for the All-Star festivities they find themselves an accidental Vegas marriage.
And this is where my opening line comes in… this book is so much more than that… the twists the turns the character growth particularly from Charli and the way Neil makes it so very clear in so many ways he WANTS Charli all to make for a book I hope you put up and enjoy every word of (I know I did)
The use of both Charli and Neil’s family creates a real feel book while offering true insight into each of their behaviors and how they feel about relationships.
The end oh the end… so very perfect… I closed my kindle with a giant smile on my face knowing Charli and Neil are so awesome together!
Bowen has become a must-read author for me… I truly adore her Brooklyn Hockey series!
