OMG I LOVED….Top Secret by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy 🦞 🌈 💖
Throughout the book I found myself trying to force myself to read slowing to savor every word!
The story of Luke and Keaton was so much of what I read for… great banter, the reader witnessing the relationship developing… love….. love coming from friendship and chemistry that bleeds off the pages!
On the surface Keaton is a jock frat boy from a privileged family (oh I will say college romance is not usually my sweet spot but this one proved me wrong) but in a fun and enjoyable fashion the reader (and Luke) learn Keaton is much more.
Keaton’s love is science, specifically animal behavior adding both humor and insight into his character. It also played really well with his coming to terms with his attraction to Luke.
Luke’s isolation and desire to have sex be just sex makes so much sense as his personal story unfolds.
The banter is at first fun, then sexy and then yes dirty… but it also allows for some soul barring and this really starts to bond these men, yes before they know who the other is. This really worked for me, because this kind of bond is so hard to ignore and the how these men go from fremenies (in this case frat brother who don’t really like each other) to men you know are destined to be together unfolded with pure literacy genius.
Luke’s backstory is heartbreaking and both men’s family’s added to this story.
The epilogue put a huge smile on my face and I hope this book leads to more from this writing duo. They write so well together, the blend of their voices is seamless and the world they craft is real (sorry it is)
I do hope like with HIM these authors write more about these men and this world!
