Trailer park born and raised. It’s my legacy. That’s how my mama lived. And that’s how her mama lived. It’s the life I was born into and it’s the life I swore I would leave the second I was old enough to make it out.
Only legacies have a funny way of sneaking up on you. An innocent decision the night of high school graduation led to a series of complications in my plans to escape.
Seven years later, I’ve resigned myself to this small town and the roots I’m tied to. Nothing could make me leave. And nothing could make me spill the secrets that keep me here.
Until he walks back into town with a chip on his shoulder and a stupid hunch nobody else in town has been smart enough to follow.
Levi Cole is my opposite. Born on the right side of the tracks with family money to spare, he’s the kind of black sheep that can afford to be rebellious—because his family will always pay for his mistakes. He’s also the only living heir to Cole Family Farms, after his brother Logan was killed in duty seven years ago.
He sees something in my life that he thinks he has a right to. But he’s wrong. And obnoxious. And he needs to take his stubborn good looks and that intense way he looks at me and go back to wherever it was he came from.
I know better than to trust men like him. I was born and raised in a trailer park, I know nothing good happens to girls like me—girls with trailer park lives and trailer park hearts. Especially from gorgeous, kind, pigheaded men like him.
Trailer Park Heart by Rachel Higginson was a Top Pick of 2018 💚 for me! Yes, I know it is 2019 as this publishes…..
I read Trailer Park Heart late in December and loved it so much that after I kicked myself for letting it sit on my kindle, I went edited my already written Top Pick List of 2018 and made new photo for that post!Trailer Park Heart pulled me in from the opening words and kept me glued to my kindle with my mind racing as I had to put it down to live life. This book is laced with emotions, woven into a unique heart touching story of true love that takes its own path.
I really do not want to give away the how or the why beyond the blurb…
I will say Levi, oh Levi, yes his bratty teenage behavior set in motion events he can not take back but in the end the happy…. the happy is something he never imagined.
The way of Levi’s family intertwines with this story, well it really is much of the story and it will have this book sitting in my heart for a long time to come!
In the end grabbing a hold of your forever happy is really about deciding you are going to make it work, despite the obstacles, despite the possible judgement of others and despite the path it took to find it!
Ms Higginson has become an author I can relay one for story with the feels… and … and one that tells me a story! A story that grabs a hold of my heart and warm my soul.. oh and one that is different and that may be the part I love more!

Oh my goodness, I love the sound of this one. I’m a sucker for the rich boy/poor girl trope. I’ve actually never read anything by Higginson even though I’ve had her Five Stages of Falling in Love on my shelf for ages. I’m definitely checking this one out. Great review!

I am so, so, so looking forward to this book! I love that cover design. The font is a weakness for me and I love how the green stands out on the cover. It’s just so eye-catching! And, of course, that synopsis has me hooked and your review has me completely sold, so! (Great review, obviously!)
