“You know my readers are going to expect some very personal information from you, right?” McKenna asked as soon as her recorder was on.
“Of course they are,” Luke stated matter-of-factly, not bothering to hide how unhappy he was with her statement.

“Just be honest. They’re going to love you, I promise.”
Luke laughed, but McKenna could sense he was relaxing slightly.

“Alright, here we go.”

M: How did you meet your significant other?
L: Which one? (Luke laughs)

M: Let’s start with Cole since you knew him first.
L: (Takes a minute to think) Cole was originally a member of The Destined Hearts Club before I purchased it five or six years ago. For the first couple of years, he and I didn’t talk much, and aside from him being a member, we didn’t interact on a regular basis either. I think the first time we really had any interaction more than just a couple of words was during one of the get-togethers at the club. I found I trusted Cole and he became an easy option for a third in a couple of my… relationships. (Luke pauses, I assume to determine whether he is going to continue) I was attracted to him in ways I wasn’t quite comfortable with, but in the end, I realized I couldn’t do without him.

M: And how about Sierra?
L: I’d like to say I met Sierra by sheer luck, but I’d have to say I met her because my brother, Logan, is not all that bright. The day Sierra walked into my club, I knew there was no turning back. She managed to find the real me, the part of me I didn’t even know about. Although I question both of their sanity, I’ve found that I couldn’t live without them. Either of them.

M: What is your greatest strength and your greatest weakness?
L: I think this is a redundant question, Ms. Thorne. (Luke rolls his eyes) Sierra and Cole are my greatest strengths and my greatest weaknesses.

M: What three words describe you best?
L: Intimidating, gruff, short tempered. I can explain those in detail if you’d like, but I don’t think it’s really necessary.

M: My readers are going to want to know things that they don’t already know, so here goes. Do you wear boxers or briefs?
L: (glares) People really want to know that shit? (pauses) Hell. Boxers.

M: At what point did you recognize your true feelings for Cole? And what happened in your mind that made you throw caution to the wind & finally go for what you wanted?
L: Why did I think you were going to go easy on me? (Luke laughs without mirth) In case you don’t know me, I’ve got an issue with denial. I can’t pinpoint exactly when it was that I realized I loved Cole, if that’s what you mean by true feelings, but I know that it was long before I admitted it. (Luke looks away) I think I finally decided to go for it when I realized I couldn’t live without him. (Luke looks back at me with a serious expression) I know people want to think that this relationship between the three of us revolves around Sierra, but I assure you, it’s not like that. Cole means as much to me as Sierra. I may not show it all the time, but that’s because Cole doesn’t need me to. We know what we are to each other and quite frankly, that’s all that matters.

M: Are you a dog or cat person?
L: Me personally? I’m a dog person. And, you’d be smart not to mention cats around Bear. He’s rather protective of his territory.

M: One of my readers wants to know what you would want for Valentine’s Day if you were a man that has it all?
L: That’s tough. (Luke smiles again) Considering there isn’t anything else I could possibly want in my life right now, I think you could say I have it all. Valentine’s is a hard one because I think people believe that gifts can show how much they care. I, personally, would want a night in with Sierra and Cole. Just the three of us. Hell, I don’t care if we are watching television, just as long as they are right there with me.

M: One of my readers wants to break out of her shell a little more her other half. How would you recommend they suggest some of the things they want without feeling shy or embarrassed?
L: I assume you’re speaking sexually? (Luke waits for me to nod in affirmation) I’m not sure it’s that simple. I run a fetish club and I can tell you, I started this place because despite what people think, this is more of the norm than not. Until recently, people weren’t comfortable sharing what they wanted. That doesn’t mean there won’t be some insecurity going in, but I think the best thing anyone can do is to get it out there. Take it slow. Maybe they could mention they saw something in a book that they thought was hot, or mention how they’d like to try it. I know people will laugh when I say this, but it all comes down to communication.

M: What are you hopes for the future with Cole and Sierra?
L: I want what any other man wants. I want to spend the rest of my life with them. I want to be able to claim them as my own. I know I can’t marry them both, but I would in a heartbeat if it wouldn’t get me in a heap of shit.

M: What haven’t u done sexually with Cole and Sierra that you would like to try?
L: Lord, woman! Are you trying to kill me? (Luke laughs) There are plenty of things we haven’t tried. I’ve got a playroom full of toys and if I can ever convince Sierra to let me to use some of them, I promise, I’m onboard.

M: Will you ever let Cole top you?
L: Who says he hasn’t?

M: Has he?
L: (pauses nervously) No. He hasn’t. I don’t know that I can answer that question truthfully at this point. I love Cole. I’d give him anything he wanted. If it comes down to that, I think I’ll have to figure it out then.

M: Has the lawsuit put any strain on your relationship with Cole and Sierra?
L: Which one? If you’re referring to the lawsuit Susan filed against Sierra, no. It hasn’t caused any strain. Sierra’s a smart, beautiful, honest woman and in the end, the truth will come out. Cole and I support her 100% and we always will. I’m pretty sure she knows this.

M: Is there any jealousy when either you or Cole have alone time with Sierra?
L: I’m not sure you can call it jealousy. We enjoy the times that the three of us are together, but we also enjoy the one on one time. I don’t sit around and wonder what the two of them are doing when I’m not there, no. In fact, it makes me feel better knowing that they are both taken care of if for some reason I can’t be there myself.

M: Are there opportunities for you and Cole to be alone together?
L: You’re readers are damn nosey, you know that? (Luke grins) Yes, there are opportunities for Cole and I to be alone together. I admit, in the beginning, it made me nervous. I was in denial, like I said. I’ll tell you this… I take advantage of any time I get to spend with him, the same as I do with Sierra. And yes, I enjoy the alone time with him just as much as the alone time with Sierra.

M: With the baby coming are there any hard feelings since only one can be the biological father?
L: (Luke glares) I’ll tell you the same thing I told Cole. The three of us know who the biological father is, but as far as I’m concerned, there isn’t a difference. We are both this baby’s father. We will both love him or her just like our own.

M: How are things going in the house now that Sierra is pregnant?
L: Let’s just say she’s as feisty as ever. She tells both of us every day that we’re too overprotective and we tell her she’s going to have to deal with it. (Luke smiles) To be honest, it’s the coolest thing I’ve ever witnessed. To know she’s going to bring a life into this world and that Cole and I are a part of that… it’s a miracle.

M: How did you and Cole hookup for the first time? What was it like?
L: Back to that are we? (Luke pauses to take a drink of water) Assuming again that you are referring to intercourse, Cole and I were together for the first time when we were at Logan’s house with him and Sam. I’ll spare you the details, but I can say it was fucking amazing.

M: We know you are the alpha male type but what do you do to show your softer side to both Cole and Sierra?
L: (laughs loudly) Ms. Thorne, I’m not sure I have a softer side.

M: I find that very hard to believe. I’ve seen the way you look at the two of them.
L: Ok, fine. I’ve been known to go out in the middle of the night for anything Sierra wants. And (looks sheepish) I make Cole breakfast from time to time.

M: And last but not least… you have a tattoo on your left arm. Why did you get it? And what does it mean?
L: Have you ever heard of a Chinese guardian lion?

M: Is that the same as a Foo Dog?
L: In terms of what we call them here, yes, it would be the same. A Chinese guardian lion is thought to have powerful protective benefits. (Luke pauses) I lost my parents at a very young age, and I think I’ve always felt lost without them. When I was eighteen, I got the tattoo. I think I needed protection from myself more than anything else at the time. I’m not sure it helped any, but it’s always been a reminder for me.

That was wonderful, it really gives you more insight to the wonder that is “Luke”. Great writing on all the books.

Oh Lord, Nicole, you’ve done it again! ::fanning self::: Whew!

Wow, those three are my faves, by the way. Seriously, I love the interview and it felt like revisiting the characters in a new way for me -I think I liked it even better than when they show up in later books because it’s just about them. They’re not incidental to someone else’s story, you know? ♥

Not to get too mushy, but I totally heart you, woman.

Oh, and P.S. I don’t think Cole will top him. I think Luke would try to make it happen if Cole asked, but I don’t think Cole would. Luke’s way too dominant and you just don’t do that. 😀

Nicole, you are so clever to allow your readers to get inside your character’s head! This demonstrates the depth of your character development and it’s what makes your books so entertaining to read! They just keep getting better! I love infatuation!!

Thanks for the character interview – it’s always nice to get to know the characters better and Nicole would be a new to me author. Thanks also for the giveaway

Loved this interview, loved the book and I hope Nicole does a novella with these 3 like she did with Logan, Sam, & Tag. I want Cole to top Luke at least once.
