It’s been five years since Livy and her family have visited Livy’s grandmother in Australia. Now that she’s back, Livy has the feeling she’s forgotten something really, really important about Gran’s house.

It turns out she’s right.

Bob, a short, greenish creature dressed in a chicken suit, didn’t forget Livy, or her promise. He’s been waiting five years for her to come back, hiding in a closet like she told him to. He can’t remember who—or what—he is, where he came from, or if he even has a family. But five years ago Livy promised she would help him find his way back home. Now it’s time to keep that promise.

Clue by clue, Livy and Bob will unravel the mystery of where Bob comes from, and discover the kind of magic that lasts forever.

Wendy Mass and Rebecca Stead, two masterminds of classic, middle-grade fiction come together to craft this magical story about the enduring power of friendship.

Today’s review was written by middle schooler.. Jeremy Sprung. When this book arrived at my office, I shared the blurb with our son and he was intrigued… so he drove right in!

As a Mom it is so great to see your children also enjoy reading… without further ado here is Jeremy’s review of BOB by Wendy Mass and Rebecca Stead

The story BOB by Wendy Mass and Rebecca Stead is about a girl named Livy who goes to her Grandma’s house every few years. She is returning after a 5 year absence, the book tells the story of Livy reuniting with a friend she seems to have totally forgot about, her friend’s name is BOB.
As she starts to talk to BOB, she and Bob wonder where he comes from?
So Livy and Bob go on an adventure as she spends time at her Grandma’s house. Livy and Bob go on a journey to find where BOB is from and what his true identity is.
I enjoyed my time with these two; they really seemed like friends, enjoying each company and Bob was comical; he made me laugh a few time during this book.
I would definitely recommend this book to people who like adventure books or just a heart warming book.
Reading this book makes me feel so fortunate that I am able to see my Grandma almost every day unlike Livy who sees her Grandma every few years.
P.S. BOB is a short green creature dressed in a chicken suit… and don’t worry this isn’t a spoiler its in the blurb!
