Erik
Nothing rattles me. Wellā€¦almost nothing. As the most even-tempered player on the Chicago Blaze, I take everything in stride ā€“ hockey, fame and life in general. No one knows that deep down, even Iā€™ve got a trigger. Sheā€™s a tall brunette with a gorgeous smile and an iron will. The woman who crushed my heart long ago. I never plan to return to Greentree Falls, Wisconsin and lay eyes on Allie Douglas again - until suddenly, Iā€™m left without a choice.

Allie
Somehow, Iā€™m keeping it all together. Raising my nieces and nephew alone and working takes everything Iā€™ve got and then some, but I get by. I donā€™t have time for love, and who needs a man, anyway? I gave up the love of my life a decade ago, and now heā€™s just a distant memory. Until one day, he comes back home. And once I see him, Iā€™m not keeping it together anymore.
Not even close.

Easy by Brenda Rothert is a beautiful second chance love story. The author masterfully allows the reader to bare witness to Erik and Allie re-connect all while the reader is never upset at either party for the “breakup” from years ago. This heart pulling story kept me engaged and rooting for these two to find the happy they had waited so long for.

Allie selflessness is so powerful, she puts family first, above herself and in the end her allow herself happy was such a big part of what I adored about this book.

Erik proves in spades that he loves all of Allie and that wants to find a way to make what is a complicated situation work.

The family aspect of this story added to the story, it helps craft the characters into people who felt real and in the end allows love to be the shining force forward.

The happy Erik and Allie find is so perfect for them, I hope we get to see them living out their happy as the Chicago Blaze series continues.

I am so very exited for Jonah next!

The vast majority of this book takes place in Erik’s hometown and though he is visited by some of the men of the Chicago Blaze this story is easily (not pun intended) read stand alone.
