From New York Times bestselling author, Whitney G. comes a contemporary, friends to lovers romance.

Please leave your message at the sound of the beep…

Penelope, I know that it’s three o’clock in the morning, but I need to get this off my chest.

I can’t give you any more advice on landing this other guy, can’t tell you another “sexy” thing that you should do, or suggest a new set of filthy words that you should text him late at night.

As your best friend, I’ve reached my limit, and I can honestly say that he doesn’t deserve you.

I’m not saying all of this because I’m fucking jealous, or because he had the audacity to say that he makes more money than me. (I still can’t find his name on the Forbes 500 list, and I know damn well that he’s renting that Ferrari, but that’s a story for a different day.)

He’s not who you think he is, and the better man has always been right in front of you…

You have every reason to never give me a chance since you know me better than anyone, and you agree with all the tabloids calling me The Cocky King of New York, and the Untamed Playboy of Manhattan. But I honestly believe that you’re better off with someone else, and I need you to see.

I’m not asking for too much…

I just want you to break up with him, for me.

Who stayed up til 5a reading this book?! I (Christine) did and it was SO worth the no sleep!

I absolutely LOVE friends to lovers, brother’s best friend romance and Whitney G. stole my heart yet again with another amazing book.

Hayden Hunter and Penelope Carter weren’t always best friends. She was the younger sister of his best friend and he was given the responsibility of looking out for her when her brother left to pursue his career. And what started off as babysitting turned into so much more when Penelope relied on Hayden for his advice on the opposite sex and the advice turned to multiple calls per day and becoming the best of friends.

As Hayden experiences Penelope’s dating mishaps and the possibility of something more for her, he realizes that she is more than just the little sister… he realizes how much MORE she means to him. And while Penelope has always had a crush on Hayden and despite pushing it into the back of her mind, the connection they share is simply undeniable. It was always more than just a friendship—they just hadn’t realized it yet. And the perfect time is NOW!

I LOVED watching these two navigate their relationship from friends to more, their fun back and forth banter, the angst, the heat, the thoughts going through my mind of KISS HER, JUST KISS HER ALREADY DAMMIT! GAHHHH!

Admittedly, I haven’t read in over a month and THIS is just what I needed. Feeling Hayden’s emotions brought a tear to my eye a time or two and I loved every second of this book! I do wish that the ending didn’t feel quite so rushed but all in all, another Whitney G. winner in my book. Thank you, Whitney, for getting me out of my book funk. I will read everything you write always. 💕
