From USA Today Bestselling Author Devney Perry comes a single dad, second chance rock star romance.

From the moment Quinn Montgomery sat behind her first snare and cymbal set, she was destined for fame and glory. As Hush Note’s infamous female drummer, she sets the rhythm for the band’s chart-toppings hits. When people tap their feet to their music, it’s to her pulse.

Quinn is content to live in a world away from her family and the cage of her youth. Her only regret is leaving Graham Hayes behind without a goodbye. No matter how many sold-out stadiums she plays, no matter how many crowds sing her songs, his voice haunts her when the music stops.

When a family tragedy forces her to return home to Montana, she plans to leave the second she’s paid her respects. But seeing Graham again turns her life upside down. As a boy, he wasn’t able to make her stay. As a man, he might be her future.

If they can mend their rifts and find solace in the refrains.

Rifts and Refrains from Devney Perry is the story of drummer Quinn from the band Hush Notes. Quinn departed her hometown years ago though her heart ached for the young love she left behind the painful way her family treated her had her not looking back.

When the loss of the one person who supported her dreams pulls her home she ends up back in the orbit of that young love, now a single Dad who she feels continues to feel that magentic attraction to.

The man is Graham, this is a character that romance readers can love and adore. Truly an admirable hero who loves Quinn despite her breaking his heart and the obstables that appear to stand in the way of a secodn chance.

This second chance, single Dad, rocker based romance is so much more than three tropes rolled into one, it is a love story that bleeds off the pages and Perry laces this read with deep emotions and an attraction that you can feel.

The how Quinn and Graham find their new happy is so very perfect for them. The scenes with Quinn and Graham’s son added so much to this story as did many of the family interactions during Quinn’s journey home. A journey that makes it clear that love can conquer all if you decide you want to open up the line of communication and grab what is in front of you.

Lies and Lullabies by Sarina Bowen stars the lead singer Jonah and  Muses and Melodies by Rebecca Yarros  tells the powerful story of Nixon the guitarist for the band.

The Hush Notes series is one of my Top Reads of the Year, this character-driven series contained three stories that blew me away as they transcended their tropes and captured by heart.
