Parenting a teen applying to college…. 🎓 during a pandemic… 🦠

Posted on 26 January, 2021 by in Podcast, Shh Moms Talking / 2 comments

Denise here…. with an addition of Shh Moms Talking; if you read my post when the pandemic first shut New York down you know I have a son that is now a Senior in High School.

My son like many students had SAT and ACT’s canceled making the college planning and application process like nothing anyone had ever seen before.

During these past few months, we have leaned heavily on the advice the college advisor Hans Hanson shared with us.

Like providing clarification as to what does “SAT optional” really mean…..

In that spirit Hans recently sharing some of this advice for FREE to parents who have students applying to college in the upcoming years.

I hope parents of tweens and teens find this information as helpful as my family did!

I am beyond grateful for the guidance of Hans over the past few years, my oldest is now in possession of an acceptance from one of two top pick schools with Presidental Merit Scholarship.

I know Hans was instrumental in both the scholarship but more importantly in helping my son know this is the right “fit”….. the right school for him

For now, my son has asked that the school name beheld back.. but keep your eyes posted around social because he has told me that once he accepts I can post like MAD!

If hiring a college advisor is not the right choice for your family I hope you find the tip and free advice Hans Hanson offered in this podcast conversation helpful for your family.

Navigating the complex college application process in this new norm offers many additional challenges and hurdles.
