Kaine Reynolds wants nothing more than solitude. After an unthinkable tragedy destroys his family, he’s cut off all ties to his former life so he can battle his grief the only way he knows how.

Alone.

So when Piper Campbell knocks on his door, rambling on about being his new neighbor, he slams the door in her face.

But Kaine’s gruff demeanor doesn’t scare her. She’s set on living in Montana and starting over after a terrible divorce. And she wouldn’t mind having a fling to chase away the pain of her husband’s betrayal. Her handsome, albeit rude, neighbor is the perfect candidate.

Yet what neither of them suspect is that their no-strings affair will result in the surprise of Piper’s lifetime—and Kaine’s worst fear.

TRAGIC by Devney Perry was beautiful love story…a story about redemption, the power of love and the power of forgiveness…. and the epilogue oh the epilogue it really brought the story full circle. If you have not read the prior books in this series, no worries this book is very much standalone; the reader does not meet Kaine Reynolds until the opening pages of this story.

For reader of this series welcome back to Lark Cove, Montana this book features Piper Campbell, Logan Kendrick personal assistant. Logan is the hero is book 1 in the series Tattered (a book I loved)

Ok back to this gorgeous love story; I am really going to try to keep my review to only what is revealed in the blurb.

Piper joins Logan her boss and his family is small town Montana as she moves forward from a terrible divorce leaving her ex and Manhattan behind.

Kaine, poor Kaine, a man alone on his mountain trapped in his own thoughts and wallowing in his solitude.

From the moment these to meet, the connection these two share bleed of the pages.  I was engrossed as these two try to navigate each other.

As the story develops the way Piper’s ex and his narcissism play into the story was masterful.

Kaine’s slowly opening up to Piper (and in turn the reader) felt to true for him and spoke volumes to his pain.

In the end the when, the how and why he opens up kept me glued to my kindle and rooting for him even in the moments I wanted to shake him and tell him to grab what is in front of him.

It should be noted I never not once questioned his attraction or desire to be with Piper; his pulling away really had a reason and when you find out why your heart will break even more.

In the end Kaine’s pain isn’t only his and as Kaine stares that pain down you can feel his heart break open… Ok that’s  it…. I am not saying any more… READ THE BOOK!

As the story concludes it comes full circle with an epilogue that will leave you smiling from ear to ear.

PS the way the book cover tied into the story was so perfect!

I am very much looking forward to book 4 in this series TINSEL about Logan’s sister Sofia Kendrick.
